What is Proposition U?

Proposition U is a $417M General Obligation Bond Measure on the November 4th ballot. Combined with an additional $50M in State Matching Funds, it would substantially complete the modernization of all district schools, provide classrooms and equipment for Career Technical Education, and construct a new high school in the Alpine/Blossom Valley area.

 

Proposition U Will...

 

  • Repair and modernize old classrooms and other teaching stations to insure safety, accessibility, climate control, energy efficiency and technology.
  • Repair and modernize old classrooms to serve as Career Technical Education programs for those students not planning to attend college.
  • Provide new facilities to support the Superintendent’s vision for the arts in education by building multipurpose facilities.
