Student Support Services
|
The Student Support Services Department provides programs and services to students in the Grossmont Union High School District.
Some of these programs and services are provided directly to students by on-site district staff (administrators, teachers, counselors and support staff). Their purpose is to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage peaceful conflict resolution. These programs include S.T.E.P. (Systems To Encourage Peace), P.A.S.S. (Positive Actions for Student Sobriety), and P.A.T.H. (Pointing Adolescents Toward Health).
|
Programs, training, and technical assistance regarding all aspects of school safety are also provided. Approaches are designed to promote positive youth development and personal-best behaviors. The Department works collaboratively with schools and county agencies to promote partnerships for comprehensive schools and community safety. As part of this collaboration, the District S.R.O. s (School Resource Officers) are contracted and coordinated from this department to provide additional security on our campuses.
Student Support Services processes all referrals for expulsion ensuring proper legal procedures are followed.
All San Diego County interdistrict transfers are processed through this office.
