| In addition to maintaining the school bus fleet, transportation
departments shop is also responsible for maintaining other district vehicles
such as heavy duty dump trucks, back hoes, fork lifts, agriculture equipment,
as well as vehicles for other districts and fire engines for the City
of La Mesa.
This great diversity of vehicles and equipment requires
the talents of highly trained personnel. In the commercial world, most
shop personnel are familiar with only one or two models; however, our
staff must have a broad knowledge to service our customers' broad variety
of equipment.
Because of our highly trained personnel and modern shop
equipment, other government agencies and school districts have found it
advantageous to have Grossmont's shop perform their maintenance and repair
work. By cooperating and sharing our resources with each other, all parties
